East Bay 3yr Old Party Ideas
I live in Berkeley and am interested in any ideas or recommendations for a birthday party for 3 yr old. Looking for something fun for a group of 10-12 kids, mainly 3 yrs olds with some 5-7 yr old siblings...ideally in the East Bay. I've looked into recommendations for Bladium, Head Over Heels, and The Rec Rm; they were either more than I'm comfortable spending or have age restrictions. My daughter's birthday is in December so looking for indoor options. Thanks!

Hi! I've heard of good things about Twirl in Alameda (an art space) and have been to some preschooler birthdays at Ruby's Tumbling in Alameda as well. Best of luck! -Elena
When my daughter was that age, we had park parties for which I bought inexpensive balls, bubbles, and chalk, got pizza and finger food, and just let the kids run around. They could take home whatever of the balls, bubbles, and chalk they wanted at the end of the party. In El Cerrito, and maybe other cities as well, some of the parks all have clubhouses that can be rented in case of rainy weather (http://el-cerrito.org/619/Facility-Rental).
Had a great December birthday at MOCHA (Museum of Children's Art) in Oakland.
It's hard to find an indoor venue in case of rain. All ages can have fun.
We did my son’s 2nd and 4th birthday at Albany YMCA. They set up obstacle courses and play areas. Was fun and price was reasonable!
Check out Habitot in Berkeley. Not sure if it's about the same cost as the others you listed but it's indoors and perfect for that age.
Hi, Have you looked at Habitot? I haven't had a party there, but the place is perfect for 3-year-olds, with enough to keep the 5-7 year old set interested. My newly six year old still likes it there. It's indoors and contained (hard for toddler to escape).
Albany Y was awesome at that age! We had and attended a few parties there. We had a Bladium party at age 6 and it was fun but very loud. Better for older kids in our experience. Sweet times.
Plan for Totland (or your other favorite local park), with your house listed as the backup option in case of actual rain, noting that in that case no siblings (phrase it more nicely than that!). I think people will understand the challenges of a winter birthday. (I have a November birthday kid myself, and we alternate between home/park.)
