Need a permit to set up a bounce house in a Berkeley park?

My daughter's 4th bday is coming up at the end of August and I'm wondering if you need a permit to set up a bounce house in one of the public berkeley parks?  Thinking grove park since it's near where we live.  Our friends have a reasonably small bounce house we could set up and borrow a generator to run it off of since there is no electricity to plug into.  Just trying to figure out what might happen if we show up and just start setting one up.

There are only certain picnic rentals that allow you to have a bounce house and you need a permit and also insurance on file. "Beginning in June of 2022, use of jump/bounce houses will be limited to reservable picnic sites only. All jump/bounce house rental companies must have insurance on file with the City of Berkeley."

Usually the parks will only allow certain companies in their parks. You should contact City of Berkeley park and rec to obtain their list.

Hi so my understanding is that you need to reserve an area and that there is only a few companies in the area that are allowed in the parks because they have the right insurance. Hope that helps!
