Do you have a house/dog sitter you love?
I am looking for a dog sitter/house sitter over the holidays and have had no luck on Rover. I searched here but the posts seem quite old. Does anyone have a solid, reliable dog sitter you can recommend? They seem hard to come by!

Hi,
I travel frequently and have four go-to pet sitters that I use. The reliability has been impeccable and the care excellent. I found them all on Rover! It has taken over 7 years with several dogs to “curate” this list of sitters. I’ve had to research and interview them and most importantly to successfully articulate my clear guidelines and expectations.
They stay in my own bed which I’ve made up with clean sheets. They must leave me the same. I leave clear guidelines about feeding, excercise and the emotional needs of my dog.
Some sitters have taken my pup to training classes!
I’m not sure how Rover did not work for you but it’s the best gig-worker platform I’ve worked with. I like the added security and the electronic paper trail.
What are you needing that River cannot accommodate?
PS Many of the super high rates are negotiable, especially for longer stays.
We have used the platform “trusted housesitters” numerous times in various locations (Marin, Tahoe, Singapore) and have had great success.
If someone staying in your home does not sound like something that works for you, I could also recommend “doggy LLama”
We love Gian C on rover. He does house visits for our three reactive and shy dogs. He's super reliable and patient and our dogs love him.
I really liked Claudio in Berkeley on Rover. But my dog stayed with him, he didn't stay at our house. It was hard to find someone to stay at the house.
