Dance for a couple of clumsy nerds

My husband and I would really love to learn how to dance well enough to not embarrass ourselves at weddings. OK, I'm the one who would like to, but he says he's willing to try. Where's a good place for beginners to learn a few steps on the dance floor? I love salsa music but I don't know if we could pull that off. Just a simple Texas two-step dance or that kind of thing? Thank you for any suggestions!

Check out Lynn. My husband and I took dance lessons from her. She is really friendly and great for beginners. https://www.learnwithlynn.com/

I had so much fun with show her off online dance courses!

I recommend reaching out to Evee via her Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/yvettevee__?igsh=ZWI2YzEzYmMxYg== she was my coach for fitness classes and is doing dance lessons now, and judging how kind she was and how comfortable she made me (an awkward, out-of-shape person who struggled with all the exercises and general consistency), I’m sure she’d be amazing!

Not sure if it’s too late for this semester but next semester you could sign up with Danny at Alameda Community College for his Friday night ballroom dance classes. It’s a fun and stress-free learning environment.

If you're willing to go into San Francisco, I'd recommend Angie Major!  We took a few dance lessons with her back in 2019 and it made a big difference for me (who always considered myself completely hopeless at dancing).

My husband and I took lessons at Steps on Toes with LaurieAnn Lepoff (https://www.stepsontoes.com/) to prepare for the first dance at our wedding. It was a great experience. It was a few years ago (okay, a couple decades) but it looks like she's still in business. Good luck!
