Cheerleading in the middle school?
Hi,
We are planning to move to the Bay area this Fall, and my middle schooler would like to continue her cheerleading activity.
Is there any middle school that has cheerleading as an afterschool activity in Berkeley or in the surrounding area?
If there is none, does anyone know of any cheerleading programs by YMCA or private gyms?

Montera Middle School in Oakland has a thriving cheerleading team. That's the only school I have direct experience with but I'm sure there are others. Sometimes local peewee football programs also offer cheerleading, if you're looking outside of school. You might have to go through the tunnel to find one, though.
There is a cheerleading squad at King Middle School. I think anyone with interest is encouraged to join.
