ALF or traditional orthodontics?

My eight year old daughter has a crossbite, and her pediatric dentist has recommended a consultation with an orthodontist.  Does anyone have experience with ALF (Advanced Lightwire Functional Appliance Therapy)?  It sounds more humane, and possibly healthier in the long run, but is it as effective as traditional orthodontics?  Thank you!

Hi there. We did ALF for our two daughters, now 12 and 14, and are so glad we did!  With the ALF, both of our daughters' teeth have straightened beautifully and even more importantly than I realized at first, their overall mouth/facial structure is optimized for breathing and chewing, etc. I am SO glad we went this approach. They started at around 6 years old and we couldn't be happier. Good luck!
