There is power in living through change, through challenges, in working with our fears and uncertainties and in making space for the ugliest, most difficult truths. When we feel discomfort in our bodies and witness our emotions, and when we name them, we get to see ourselves through a compassionate lens. But showing up for ourselves, we get to contribute to our own healing and participate in the healing of others. In this workshop, we'll have an opportunity to check in with ourselves and our bodies. What emotions are we arriving with, and how do we know?

Participants will have an opportunity to

  • Share their stories with the collective
  • A meditation on working with difficult emotions
  • We will make space for our experiences following the meditation through a creative journaling exercise
  • Break into groups and have an opportunity to share with each other and listen to one another through conscious listening practices.

As caretakers, learning how to connect with our own embodied emotions can be a powerful tool as we navigate raising families and demanding jobs, while showing up for our communities during this political climate.
