Inspire Behavioral Learning, LLC has summer openings for Nature Camp Counselor employment in Call of the Wild Camps, outdoor nature camps in the Bay Area! Join us in leading the next generation of environmental stewards and vegan-friendly nature lovers as a Nature Camp Counselor. Inspire's outdoor educators use emergent curriculum and experiential learning to open a wondrous door to the great outdoors as our living classroom.
Responsibilities: Nature Camp Counselors teach and lead children in grades K-5, ages 5-10, in outdoor day camps. Inspire's educators create a safe and fun learning environment with hands-on nature exploration, nature connection, biology activities, environmental education, leave no trace activities, hikes, storytimes, nature journaling, nature-inspired arts and crafts, creative play, and more!
Summer Camp Employment Openings:
- Vacaville summer camp: June 9-13 at Lagoon Valley Park
- Oakland summer camps: June 23-July 3 at Joaquin Miller Park and July 7-18 at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park
- Berkeley summer camp: June 23-July 18 at Tilden Regional Park
- Los Gatos and Cupertino/Los Altos Hills summer camps: July 21-25 at Oak Meadow Park & Vasona Lake County Park and July 28-August 8 at Rancho San Antonio County Park & Open Space Preserve
Qualifications:
- You are an adult (age 18+) with a minimum of a high school diploma.
- The #1 quality in all of Inspire's employees is a passion for both teaching and learning, for the best educators are the best learners.
- At least 1 year experience teaching in K-5 level camps or equivalent experience.
- Regular experience hiking or running trails on varied terrain at least approximately 6 miles in a day.
- Must already possess unexpired CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must already possess your own reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance.
- Demonstrate a fun and engaging teaching style with high energy, creativity, adaptability, spontaneity, dynamism, and positivity.
- Eco-conscious skills with a demonstrable love of nature and the outdoors, life sciences, biology, environmental science, outdoor education, or environmental education.
- Health-conscious skills with a demonstrable love of active and healthy living.
- Enthusiasm for making education relevant to children's lives.
- You can articulate how veganism benefits animals, health, and the environment.
- You are vegan as an ethical philosophy and lifestyle advocating for cruelty-free, positive alternatives to unnecessary animal exploitation for food, clothing, recreation, entertainment, household products, and the environment.

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:25 AM-4:35 PM, except 4th of July is a day off
Compensation: $20-22/hr DOE
Classification: Non-exempt employee; full-time for the summer 2025 season; seasonal; temporary. Successful hires may be invited to return for future seasons (camps are held in the summer, fall, winter, and spring!).
