Wonder Babysitter
Community SubscriberBerkeley, CA
Immersive childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Our program includes language immersion, personalized organic meals, engaging activities, weekly yoga & music classes, and real-time updates.
Our daughter attended Wonder Babysitter from 6 months to 1 year old. The location is quite accessible and their hours are very flexible. She received excellent care in her time there. They offer great meals, stroller excursions to the park on hot days, and have a great space that includes individual cribs for each kid to insure they get a good nap each day.
I would high recommend Wonder babysitter to anyone looking for a daycare.
I almost don’t want to blow up our spot on BPN since we’ve referred so many friends and neighbors, but it sounds like you’re looking for Wonder Babysitter!
Located on Adeline at Alcatraz, open 7:30-6 M-F, reasonably priced given how long their hours are, okay with part time schedules. It’s “Spanish immersion” (ie only the owner speaks English) but they send updates all day via the Brightwheel app which auto translates English/spanish so I’ve never had trouble communicating, and it’s delightful that a few of my kid’s first words have been in Spanish. They also prepare/serve breakfast, lunch, and a snack, which is another huge mental load off the working parent. Oh also they take babies starting pretty young. Mine started at 5mo but I think they’ve done younger.
My kid doesn’t quite have enough words yet to tell me about his day, but he reaches into the caregivers’ arms in the morning and waves a cheerful goodbye in the evening and is frequently seen grinning in the pictures they send me, so something must be going right!
We love our daycare in Berkeley, near Ashby Bart and not far from the 24. It's called Wonder Babysitter, and they recently opened (about 5 months ago they moved from their SF location) so they may still have space :) Our baby has been there since she was 9 months, now is 14 months and brings her backpack to the front door in the mornings because she loves it and wants to go to "school"
