Check out Lydia's Childcare and Preschool. She is fabulous and has had my little one since 2 mos. She is now 4.5 and will ''graduate'' from Lydia's. It has a homey feel and our gal has been with her 4 other pals for awhile. They are really like brothers to her. There is an emphasis on Positive Discipline and making good choices. As I am now looking at Kinder, they will be well prepped for school as well. They got a bunny, a chicken, which the children help care for and she provide Breakfast, lunch, and a snack each day. 510-697-9523 for info. maya

Try Lydia's homebased daycare and preschool near Piedmont Ave. Our little one has been there since 2 mos. and has done very well. Great family environment and awesome preschool. Maya

Lydia has had my baby, now 17 mos., since she was 10 weeks old and she is fabulous. She is a fully licensed daycare and has 3 other chldren. It is run out of her home with 2 assistants. 2 other mom's from my mom's group also place their children there. She provides a healthly breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They do circle time, reading, music, and crafts. Baby Maya was doing music time with bells on her wrists since she was 10 weeks. She knows the first letter of her name and her vocabulary is growing everyday. Lydia is a proponent of Positive Discipline and does wonder in the area of ''behavior management''.
