1. Be polite
We want everyone to feel comfortable sharing information on BPN without worrying about being a target for criticism.
- No name-calling, gossip, venting, preaching, chastising, or inflammatory wordage. See Language & Tone on BPN.
- Post your own opinion but don't criticize the opinions of other parents.
- Respect the privacy of your fellow subscribers: don't send private messages of complaint or offers of services that were not requested. See Privacy and Anonymity
- Be nice to the moderators. They are parents who volunteer in their "spare" time.
2. Don't use your free parent account for commercial purposes
BPN is a not-for-profit resource that's free for parents because schools and businesses pay to subscribe. The free parent subscriptions cannot be used for commercial purposes.
- Don't use your parent account to offer paid services. (see Advertising and Promotion)
- Don't post a review of your own business or that of your friend or family member. (see Posting Advice & Reviews)
- Don't post advice or reviews that you stand to gain from in any way. (see Compensated Reviews.)
- Don't post professional advice. (see Giving or Requesting Professional Advice.)
- Don't use the Marketplace to run a business. (see Policies for Marketplace)
