RE: Active vacation with 2yo and 4yo
We just returned from a wonderful, active family vacation in the California Trinity Alps. We stayed at a place called Coffee Creek Ranch that was completely family oriented. You could ride horses and hike through the wilderness, and swim in the pool (or later in the season, when the water was lower and warmer, the creek). There was gold panning, paddle boating, fishing in a stocked pond or the creek, archery, arts and crafts, line dancing, hayrides, bbqs, bonfires, etc. The ranch has a remarkably friendly and helpful staff, including counselors for kids of all ages. The price is a little steep, but it includes all activities (except horseback rides), and all meals. We had a terrific time with our 20-month old. Check out the website: www.coffeecreekranch.com.
