Join Musically Minded Academy — Music for Every Age and Stage

Build skills, confidence, and community through performance-based music education with Musically Minded Academy, a California 501(c)3 in Berkeley. We teach music like a language and surround students with supportive peers and mentors so they can grow and thrive.

What we offer

• Private and Semi-Private Lessons on most instruments, in person or online. Flexible scheduling with experienced teachers.
• Live Ensembles Program with multiple levels for ages 4 through adult, all in person: orchestra, jazz band, and beginner group classes.
• New Notes Orchestra
  Saturdays, 9–11 am. All ages and levels welcome. Classical and current repertoire with guided improvisation. Parts customized for each student.
• Basics, Blues, and Beyond Jazz Combo
  Saturdays, 10 am–12 pm. Rooted in jazz and blues with room to explore other genres. Reading is helpful but not required. Music parts are tailored for each player.
• Very Vocal Pop Choir
  Saturdays, 12–2 pm. Harmony, pop, and musical theater for singers and instrumentalists across a range of ages and skill levels.
• Newbie Notes Group Piano
  Small, joyful starter classes.
  Thursdays: 4:30–5:15 (ages 4–6, transfer students), 5:15–6:00 (ages 4–6, full), 6:00–6:45 (ages 7–9, full)
  Fridays: 4:30–5:15 (ages 7–9, new class)
