Oct 2012

Our son started with Mandy at New Beginnings when he was a year old and he has grown tremendously in her care. It was under Mandy's care that he started walking, talking, and (most importantly!) dancing. He is also learning basic manners like how to say please, covering his mouth when he sneezes and coughs, how to share, and how to be gentle with children smaller than him.

Mandy runs the daycare out of her home in Montclair, which is a lovely space with high ceilings and ample sunlight. The children play outside in the fenced-in backyard every day and get a lot of fresh air and exercise. She has her backyard set up with fun and age-appropriate activities like a sandbox, water/sensory table, and easels for painting. For her indoor space she does a terrific job of rotating the activities and toys out on a weekly basis so that whatever the kids are playing with never get old. The children do some kind of arts and crafts project nearly every day, and she even makes sure to include the smallest ones.

Most importantly, it is obvious how much Mandy adores the children in her care, and how much they, in turn, love her. Mandy and New Beginnings are everything we were hoping to find in a small family-based daycare and we recommend her wholeheartedly.
