Daycare that's flexible and accommodating? We've discovered Ms. Annetta's Family Daycare in Oakland. For our infant son, we require childcare 1-3 days/week, and the specific days of the week can vary. Sometimes I need just a half-day to run an errand. It's challenging to find daycare that's willing to play- it-by-ear, so we've been thrilled to find Annetta. (I can text her the night before to tell her I need childcare tomorrow!) Annetta's got a lovely, unflappable energy about her, and our son is thriving there. We live in Rockridge, but we're willing to drive out near the Oakland Zoo because Annetta's flexibility is so valuable to us. (The drive moves pretty quick if you take Hwy 13.) When we send our children to a daycare or preschool for the first time, the most important criterion for our selection is probably that our children are safe and well cared-for. I would like to recommend Mrs. Annetta's Family Preschool as a place that fulfills that and more. When I was looking for a daycare placement for my daughter, I wanted to find an environment in which she would be nurtured, not simply kept. Mrs. Annetta truly seems to enjoy the company of children and has a wonderful way of engaging them in a very natural way. She follows a reasonable daily routine that includes circle time, counting, ABC's, music, and free play, which contributes greatly to the children's sense of security as well as appropriate cognitive development. However, what makes her truly stand out is that "intangible" but visible factor - that the children are seamlessly woven into the daily routine, always engaged but also given plenty of room to explore whatever captivates them at the moment. At such a young age, children need the engagement and guidance of adults whom they trust. I cannot recommend her enough.

It is with great excitement that our son is moving on to kindergarten. It is also with great sadness that he will be leaving the wonderful environment of Ms. Annetta's Family Daycare & Preschool. I wanted to make all of you aware of this wonderful home-based daycare/preschool accepting applications now with a few openings as a few of the little ones are moving on to kindergarten.

My wife and I have yet to meet someone with the level of caring, nurturing, attention to detail and commitment to baby/toddler curriculum and social development that this teacher has consistently demonstrated over the past 4 years that she has been with our son. My wife trusts only 3 people to watch our son - me, her mom and Ms. Annetta.

Anyone in the area who is looking for a wonderful environment for their child need look no further. We would be happy to speak with anyone about this great opportunity for their child.

I would like to recommend my son's family daycare/preschool. Annetta offers a warm and loving atmosphere where children grow and feel safe and secure. My son is 9 months old and just took to her from the first day. My son receives a lot of individual attention. I would visit him during my lunch hour, and he would always have a big smile when Annetta talks to him. The daycare is very educational with a daily curriculum for age appropriate learning and development. When the weather permits, she takes children on daily nature walks to observe vegetation and birds nearby. I receive a daily report card of my child's activites, including times of feeding and naps. She also offers Parents Friday Night Out and weekend care for an additional fee and advance notice. I highly recommend Annetta for your little one.
