Reading Specialist

Hello! I run Empowerebk, a family-owned and operated reading intervention practice. I’m a former elementary school teacher with 11 years of classroom experience. Over the years, I’ve seen first hand how difficult school can become for children who struggle to read, especially after age eight. When students haven’t yet learned to read fluently, they can begin to feel withdrawn, frustrated, and insecure. As learning shifts from “learning to read” to “reading to learn,” the gap only grows wider.

I’m currently offering reading intervention support using the Orton-Gillingham approach, a proven, step-by-step, multisensory program designed for struggling readers. If your child is falling behind in reading or showing signs of frustration, I would love the opportunity to work with them and help build their confidence and skills. I have experience with students with IEPs as well as how to help advocate for your student when their needs are not being met. I also work well with all students by building a strong relationship with them and crafting our time together to their exact needs.
