Hi, BPN Community! My name is Emma; I'm a credentialed K-12 educator and I'd love to support your child as a tutor/academic coach. After graduating from Cal with a degree in Cognitive Science, I began teaching with Teach for America in Denver. I have taught all subjects in elementary and middle schools. I'm passionate about supporting students in building academic skills that truly leverage their individual strengths. My students typically grow 1.5-3 grade levels in reading and math skills over one school year, and I take a student-centered, hands-on approach to learning and work to differentiate my methods to meet the unique needs of each student.

As a special education teacher, I have extensive training and experience supporting students with ADHD, dylsexia, autism, and many other exceptionalities. I offer tutoring centered around direct homework help, personalized foundational skill-building, and summer enrichment. I am happy to meet with clients in-home, at a local library/coffee shop, or over Zoom. I currently live in SF and teach in Oakland, but can meet throughout the Bay Area. I have flexible evening and weekend availability this spring, and open availability this summer. I strive to meet families where they are and serve all students. As such, I operate on a flexible pricing scale. I look forward to partnering with you - feel free to email/call/text with any questions!
