Help your child succeed with an independent, professional tutor

Does your child struggle in school? Or does he or she feel bored or unchallenged in school? Give your child the tutoring support he or she needs. A writer and a former teacher, I’ve been tutoring professionally since 2015. I work with kids of all ages to help them improve in math, reading and writing, and general study skills. I teach the following subjects:

• Elementary math and middle-school math, Algebra 1 and 2, and geometry: I work with students from first grade up to eleventh grade. Our shared goals are improved understanding of concepts, experience solving problems, and increased comfort communicating mathematical ideas.
• Writing, composition, and reading: I work with students of all ages to help them gain writing confidence. I also teach new and more experienced readers, using proven methods to learn both decoding and reading comprehension.
• Study skills and learning how to learn: Using the most recent science of learning, I pass on skills that help students stay organized, be aware of their own learning processes, and pro-actively approach academic learning.
• College essay coaching and ISEE test prep
