I'm a former high school teacher with 10+ years of teaching and tutoring experience. I'm taking on students in the following areas:

SAT/ACT/GRE - all sections

MCAT - biology and chemistry/physics 

Math - all levels K-12, calculus and linear algebra

Science - all levels of biology, chemistry, physics, geology

Computer science

Latin 

About me, I did my B.S. at Yale (biology, Latin) and my graduate work at UC Berkeley (M.S. computer science, Ph.D. computational biology). I was a high school teacher (science, math, and Latin), before I came to Berkeley for school. I've run a tutoring business and done individual tutoring for many years. I do quantitative genetics research by day, but I teach on the side because I love it!

I love working one-on-one because it allows me to identify my student's individual gaps and efficiently deliver what they need to build their understanding. I've worked with students who are tentative about their skills and students who are academic superstars. I find that individual attention is the common variable that helps pretty much everyone to grow as fast as possible.

I do in home tutoring in the East bay, but I ask that a parent or guardian is present. I can also meet up to work in public locations. I live on the North side of downtown Berkeley.
