Tutoring for low income Oakland 6th grader

May 2008

I tutor a woman through a library literacy program. She is now looking for help for her son with his school work. He is in the 6th grade and at an Oakland charter school. Does anyone know of free/low cost tutoring resources in the Oakland area? She does not drive so they will have to get to these places by bus. She was also hoping that there was a place for him to do his homework and get help as he was working.....any place like that exist in East Oakland or downtown Oakland? sue

Have her call Aspire Education they work with families that have lower incomes and the have tutors that can come to the home if they can get a good match. Google them online. aspireeducation.org needed help myself...
