Re: Mechanic to evaluate a used car purchase
I am responding to the person looking for a good mechanic to check out a used car for them. I go to Berkeley Motor Works on San Pablo Ave near Solano Ave. The repair shop is run by a husband and wife team that are very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The mechanics are well trained and have performed car inspections in the past for costumers. They have always given me great service without an outrageous bill in the end. They also do the little extras that make doing business there a pleasure like vacuuming my car out before returning it to me. Heather

try Berkeley Motor Works, they used to be in Richmond (odd, i know) but moved to Albany at 736 San Pablo, I brought my ancient 530i there and found them friendly and reasonable. juliet
Re: BMW maintenance/repair (May 2005)
I've talked to many people over the years that say that Berkeley Motor Works 736 San Pablo Ave., Albany, is absolutely excellent - that they wouldn't go anywhere else.

I don't have a BMW but many years ago when I had a VW, the owner of Berkeley Motor Works (then a personal friend) referred me to the BEST VW mechanic around. I am forever thankful for that wonderful recommendation for a mechanic - and believe that he referred me to the best because he is the best...

Re: BMW maintenance/repair (May 2005)
I've been taking my BMW's to BERKELEY MOTOR WORKS, INC. since 1992. Mike the owner takes great pride in his work, honest, definately a place you can trust. Carol answers the phone and works up front. She's the greatest and understands the importance of our special cars. Their number 510 528-1214 on San Pablo Ave. before Solano in Albany. Anon
