Moving to Olympia, WA

Archived Q&A and Reviews

April 2012

We are probably moving to Olympia this summer, and though we have a relative there, she does not have children, so doesn't know the answers to some of our questions. Does anyone out there have experience with Olympia? Good Elementary schools, neighborhoods to live in (rent to start)? We will also be looking for preschool programs. Any other recommendations for us to consider in the transition? Thank You! Big Changes...

Hi- Olympia is a lovely town in a beautiful area. We grandparents visit pretty often, and I have one word for you-- galoshes! But I know you could use much more info, so please feel free to give me a call...Gr'Ma Jo

Hi: Congrats on moving to Olympia--it's a great place! My husband and I moved from California to Olympia in the mid-2000s and were there for almost 3 years. We moved back after we had a baby and decided we were just to far from our families (all in California). Our daughter was only 6 months old when we moved back, so we don't have much experience with what it's like to live there with an toddler, older child, etc., but I'd be happy to share our experiences and thoughts with you.
