Corneal Refractive Therapy with Paragon?

Aug 2010

I would like to know about your experience using corneal refractive therapy, and the name of the doctor as well. Have you had any side effects? would you recommend it? Is it expensive? I fill the requirerments but I would like some feedback. Anon

I had corneal refractive therapy (CRT) from Paragon done at the UC Eye Center in Minor Hall, on the UC Berkeley campus (510) 642-2020. I love it! No contacts during the day, no surgery, 20/20 vision, and it's completely reversible so when my eyes start to lose the ability to accommodate when I get older, I won't need reading glasses like many Lasik surgery patients do.

For some reason the Eye Center doesn't advertise that they do this excellent procedure; perhaps it's not as much of a money-maker as Lasik. You need to ask for one of the doctors that specializes in CRT when you call.

It is expensive, around $1K, but I don't have to buy new glasses or contacts every year or two now, so overall it has saved me money. loved throwing away my glasses
