Are there any Indian or Hindu cultural afterschool programs in Berkeley or nearby North Oakland for preschool or elementary students? I'm thinking more about art,history, classical music and dance (and less bollywood stuff). If not, are there private lessons in Sangeetham or Bhartyanatam or is anyone interested in setting something up? I was talking to my mom this week and realized my kiddos think our language is a private family thing and don't realize 1/5 of the world population has Indian heritage and 70 million people alone speak my little provincial language (Telugu)! Given its Berkeley, there has to be something around, no?
There are Kathak classes in west berkeley and some groups of families that do holidays or classes once a month on culture etc.
