Sagebooks for kids learning chinese

I am a Chinese heritage speaker (I can converse but am illiterate), raising my child (2yo) speaking Chinese, seeking to teach my child to read Chinese too. For various reasons, Chinese immersion school is off the table (child speaks Spanish with the other parent and if we pick any immersion school it would be for Spanish), so I’m looking for a home curriculum we can do together. I saw great reviews online for Sagebooks Basic Chinese 500 (from Honk Kong publisher Sage Formula) of other illiterate parents successfully completing the program with their child, with a  recommended minimum age of 3. I am curious if anyone here has tried it and can share their experience, or if you are in my position and successfully taught your child to read Chinese. Thanks!
