Mentorship for Black Youth

Dear East Bay parents,

We are a mixed-race, Berkeley family with a 11 year old black son. We're currently looking for a mentorship opportunity for our son with a young black man or men, aged 21-30. This past year we reached out and applied with several local organizations including Big Brothers and Sisters of America and Kingmakers of Oakland yet haven't been able to find a match. We're looking for other leads or suggestions. Our son has interests in music (piano), fishing, drawing, cooking and skateboarding. Opportunities we're open to include:

- Church with an active youth group and/or active youth music group
- Music organization with black mentorships 
- Art organizations with black mentorships 
- Scouts group with black mentors
- Open to any other type of youth group organization with black mentorships
