How is the TK program at PAES now (2023)?
I am considering enrolling my son at PAES for TK and would love to hear from other parents whose child attended TK there to see what their experience was like. The past reviews mention teachers who have since moved on to other grades so looking for more recent feedback if available. Thank you!

Our kid goes to the PAES TK program right now and it is wonderful. Their teacher is Ms Michelle and my child adores her and regularly tells me they want to stay in TK forever. My kid went from being somewhat shy and playing by themselves most of the time to being friends and playing with everyone in the class. Ms Michelle takes a minute to speak with every single student before class and is really responsive and knows everything about all the kids - she rotates small job responsibilities between all the kids which helps them feel independent and nurtures a sense of camaraderie.
The school itself is somewhat resource constrained, being fairly small, but they do a ton with what they have. There is a music program, the kids have arts and science. The kids go on regular field trips to the library next door, and have occasional other field trips around Oakland.
All the teachers and administrators, as well as the other parents, have been warm and welcoming and ready to help. Parent involvement in TK is highly encouraged (to share cultural traditions, to read to the kids, or help out a bit in the classrooms, to bring snacks or talk about their jobs, etc.)
Its been a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to other parents.
