Therapist or Resources for Aggressive 5 year old
We are looking for a therapist to help us with pretty extreme physical aggression from our 5 year old son. He's very tall and strong for his age, he's the height and weight of an average 8 year old, which makes matters even worse. He can be very aggressive with us at home when he is tired/hungry/doesn't feel good, especially at transition times. He just started Kindergarten and is already being aggressive with peers at recess. We are looking for someone who might specialize in this area and who could work with my husband and I to give us strategies. If anyone has had a similar experience and would be willing to share resources that were helpful, we would be very grateful!

Hi! We definitely recommend Rebecah from Wits' End Parenting. Our almost 5 year old also was having issues at his preschool with aggressive play and impulse control and we were also stressed as a family by his constant outburst at home. We did a course of 8 week zoom sessions with her to help us develop a good structure for responding to tantrums, collaborative problem-solving, and holding boundaries and accountability. Rebecah was always available to us by text if needed and while we didn't actually utilize it is willing to have meetings and work with schools as well. Her speciality is children that are strong-willed and defiant and she really seems to deeply understand how they tick and what they are motivated by. Hope you are able to get help! We have seen a noticeable improvement in our home from our time with her.
