HouseCleaners - Pay & Recommendations

We are paying our two housecleaners $180 when they come.  They are now wizzing thru and generally finish/leave after 1.5 hr/3 hours between them.  Things aren't getting done or not done well - works out to $60/hr for each.  They do bring a vacuum and cleaning rags.  This amount seems too much for what they're doing.  What's your experience and what you pay.  Any suggestions for others who seem more reliable in their work.   Thanks....

We paid $180 for an initial cleaning that was estimated at 2 hrs and ended up being 2.5 hrs - 2 bathrooms and a kitchen, and they went absolutely above and beyond. They cleaned stuff I didn’t even expect them to clean, like the fronts of all the appliances, the dishes in the sink, etc (although, transparently, that was my first time hiring house cleaners so maybe that’s normal). They are called Faloni Cleaning, the manager’s name is Cyntia. You can reach out to me and I’ll send you her direct text line. She just had a baby a few months ago so her responses take a few days but she is lovely.

I pay $250 for 4 hours, which is about $62/hour (plus a huge Christmas bonus.)

But she is a perfectionist who does an amazing, detailed, fantastic job. I wouldn't pay nearly that much for someone I wasn't happy with.

We pay $300 including tip for 2 people who come for 3-4 hours usually, and we add more if they stay longer. But more importantly, they do a thorough job and are open to doing more if I point out things I’d like them to do.

It's hard to know if 1.5 - 3 hours is unreasonable because you don't mention how big your house is. I have a 2/1 and the cleaners take roughly 1.5 hours and I'm very happy with their work. They clean the floors, tables, stove, inside the oven, sinks, and counters. They are great in the bathroom, and they change & launder our sheets. They will even lightly tidy my kid's toys and books, which is always appreciated. It's possible you're expecting a deep clean every time, which is something you would need to discuss with the cleaning team.

We pay roughly the same as you do, and I'm happy to recommend the team that comes to my home.

I think this is a fair rate for difficult work. Two housecleaners clean my home, around 1,400 square feet, once a month. It takes about 2 hours, and they charge $230. This is about what I pay for 1 person for 1 hour of therapy. Both therapy and a clean home are critical for my mental health, and I believe both professions should be paid for the value they provide.
