Children's Community Center (CCC): Seeking part-time Teachers!
CCC is a parent-teacher cooperative preschool located in North Berkeley. Operating since 1927, CCC offers a year-round, play-based program run by a professional teaching staff and managed by parent volunteers. Our co-op preschool is looking for a teacher with at least 12 early childhood education (ECE) units (or actively working toward 12 ECE units) to assist our Teacher Directors daily, Monday-Friday, hours below.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children during morning and afternoon programs in child-initiated and organized activities, encouraging peer interaction and helping with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Assist Teacher Directors with the day’s projects and facilitate activities that support children’s spontaneity, curiosity, and choice.
- Collaborate with staff and parents to support a well-balanced, rich, and varied learning environment for children as they grow their capacity for self-expression and social connection through exploration and play.
Hours and Compensation:
- Consistent hours from 11:30am - 4:30pm M, W, F + 11:30am - 5:30pm on Tu & Thursday (28 hours a week, with opportunities to pick up additional hours).
- Pay $29.17/hr

Qualifications:
- 12 Early Childhood Education credits are required for this role. Applicants actively working toward ECE credits will be considered with proof of renrollment.
- Passion for and experience with working with preschool children.
- Current background check and health clearances required upon hire.
