Patient & Experienced Math Teacher | MA, M.Ed.

Hello!

I am a veteran teacher (20 +yrs) with over seven years in the math classroom, having taught all levels from middle school through community college, including Calculus, as well as additional years of tutoring. I previously taught a math class specifically designed for students with anxiety, so I know how to help students feel comfortable and build confidence in their math skills. My students describe me as patient and encouraging, and they find my teaching style easy to learn from.

In addition to math, I spent over 12 at UC Berkeley teaching study and research skills, mentoring, and advising students. I also hold a Master’s degree focused on math education. I currently tutor Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3 [& SAT prep soon]. My rates are $95/hr, $90/hr for a package of 5, or $85/hr for a package of 10. Ask about a sliding scale if needed.

I tutor from my apartment in Alameda (near Franklin Elementary in the Gold Coast), online via Zoom, or at the local Alameda library or a nearby café. If you live close to me, I can also do in-home tutoring for an extra fee of $10 per session.
