Tutor and Coach of Reading, Writing, Study Skills, and Executive Functioning (K-12)
My name is Miranda. I bring 18 years of teaching and tutoring experience to help your child develop the academic skills and confidence they need to be successful and independent learners. I offer one-on-one or small group academic coaching, executive functioning coaching, and tutoring to help students develop work and study skills. When students find learning relevant, meaningful, and fun, they retain key concepts and skills long after our sessions are over.
About Me and Teaching Philosophy:
Tutoring should be a safe place for foundational learning and a place to excel and explore possibilities. I help students feel confident in their abilities and help them develop and practice strategies that allow them to excel in school.
I hold a BA from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, and 18 years of teaching, tutoring, and Edtech experience. I struggled with learning differences and know how important it is to try many different methods to find what works for each learner. I bring my love of teaching, a diversity of strategies, and a deep well of empathy to my work with all students.
