Math Tutor (Elementary)

I’ve been an elementary  teacher in Berkeley Unified for 16 years and a math specialist for 6 years. I have an understanding of Common Core Standards, and Eureka math (BUSD’s math curriculum.) I can help you understand both in order to support your child.

There is no such thing as “not a math person.” We all have the capacity to understand math deeply and do it well. I can bring out the inner mathematician of your child and boost your child’s understanding of math.

When working with children, I like to focus on gaining deep understanding, mathematical reasoning, and building strong number sense & fluency through hands on problem solving and games. I like to include fluency games that your child can play at home.
