Back by popular demand! BBQ Without Borders is No Immigrants No Spice's signature summer benefit, bringing attendees together to honor the powerful contributions of immigrants in the Bay Area and beyond. It's an unforgettable, family-friendly day of delicious bites from Bay Area immigrant chefs, live performances, good vibes, and community joy.

Taking place from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA), the event features immigrant chefs serving their own regional riff on BBQ (Ethiopian, Salvadoran, and Sonoran), plus a full lineup of live performances from musicians, DJs, dancers, and vocalists - including flamenco, Afro-Brazilian drumming, folk, drag, and even opera. A variety of kids activities will be available, and attendees will have access to OMCA's galleries - including the kid's nature playspace - from 3:00-5:00PM. Additional programming includes beautiful art installations and on-site storytelling activations that will share the migration stories of our chefs and their families, while inviting attendees to explore what immigration means to them.

Proceeds from the event (including from a silent auction of premier items) benefit The Resilience Fund, a partnership between No Immigrants No Spice and The Unity Council to provide direct support to immigrants who are excluded from government relief due to their immigration status.

Featured chefs include Anthony Salguero of Popoca, the team from Cafe Colucci, and Maria Marquez of Tacos Mama Cuca. Third Culture Bakery will provide desserts, and a Pani Puri Party with Chef Preeti Mistry was recently announced. Oakland-raised Chef Tu David Phu will emcee, and cocktails, mocktails, wine, and beer will also be available. Additional food and drink can be purchased on site.

Through this year's theme - "Toward a Greener Future" - we’re paying tribute to the bold flavors, deep roots, and green futures we’re cultivating together, uplifting immigrant voices as leaders in climate and culture. See you on 8/2!
