We still have spots available for 3, 4 and 5 year olds for our 2025-2026 school year!  If you are interested in a co-op model preschool, it's a wonderful way to build community and observe your child grow and thrive in a caring and thoughtful environment, and can be a developmentally meaningful alternative to TK, preparing the older children for Kindergarten and beyond.

Children who attend Dandelion for the 2025-2026 school year must turn three by the end of November, 2025. We also have spots for children in our older group, 4 & 5 year olds, kids who turn 4 by the end of November, 2025.

Dandelion Nursery School is a play-based, parent cooperative preschool in North Berkeley and has been a vibrant part of the community for over 50 years. We are now touring for the 2025-2026 school year. If you'd like to tour with us, please email enrollment [at] dandelionnurseryschool.org (enrollment[at]dandelionnurseryschool[dot]org) , and we can find a time that works for your family.

Check out our website: www.dandelionnurseryschool.org to learn more about our sweet school.

At Dandelion, children pursue active learning through group activities and have ample time and space for individual exploration. We have thoughtfully created areas for privacy or group play, and a wide variety of choices are always available including art, manipulatives, dramatic play, blocks, music, science, and books. We also have a wonderful outside classroom that has space for large motor activities and contains a flourishing garden, a beautiful two-story playhouse and chickens.  The children are encouraged to find their play wherever it takes them in our space. Parents participate in the cooperative through regular classroom participation and family jobs outside school hours.

Thanks and hope to see you on a tour!
