Children's Fairyland is proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage this May! The storybook theme park in Oakland is uplifting an array of traditions from the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora, ranging from traditional folklore and dance to contemporary storytelling. Fairyland invites you and your family to experience a variety of ways children in Asia and Pacific Island Nations learn through games and crafts. You are welcome to enjoy lively performances and immerse yourself in the music, rhythm, language, and storytelling within the vibrant cultures of AAPI communities.

Join Children's Fairyland for 4 wonderful weekends of community, culture, beauty, tradition, and joy:

May 4 & 5: Food, Fabric, and Fancy Footwork
Learn Siapo, the traditional fabric art of the Samoa Islands. Pull up a seat at Cheryl Yau Chepusova’s Book Celebration, read-aloud, and book signing of Noodles, Please! Enjoy a Japanese soba tasting. Fancy the footwork and flowing movement of the Halau Makana Polynesian Dancers. Check out live storyteller Oliver Chin.

Live storyteller Oliver Chin brings his magic once again to the park!
