Brianna Darcey Acupuncture: Preparing for C-Section Birth: Sept 21 Class
Hi Soon-to-Be Parents!
I’m teaching a C-Section Education Class with the East Bay Birth Collective and wanted to share it with you. Before becoming a doctor of acupuncture, I spent 10 years as a Labor & Delivery nurse, supporting families through both vaginal and cesarean births. That experience showed me how little preparation most families receive around C-sections, and how much of a difference it makes when they go in with tools and knowledge.
This class is highly encouraged for anyone with a scheduled C-section—but it’s truly appropriate for all pregnant people. Since about 1 in 3 births in the U.S. are by cesarean, preparation helps every family feel more confident, calm, and connected if that path becomes part of your story. I can’t tell you how many people have told me after an unplanned C-section that they wish they’d been more prepared. My goal is to give families the tools and knowledge up front, so that if a C-section does become part of your birth, it feels informed and supported rather than overwhelming.
You’ll learn:
- What to expect before, during, and after surgery
- Questions to ask your providers
- Options for comfort and connection in the OR and recovery
-
How to support healing postpartum
