I’ve just been diagnosed with tumor on a bone located in the middle of my skull, next to brainstem.  After some deliberation, my doctors at UCSF have settled on fibrous dysplasia as the most likely diagnosis. While it is a benign condition, I am still absolutely terrified and depressed.
    I am 42 years old.
Just wondering if there are others here that have had similar conditions. Would love to talk. This is affecting me emotionally in an unexpected way.

    Hi Uretski,

I totally get it. I was 19 when I got my first benign bone tumor on my tibia and then 2 months later a malignant grew with a vengeance in same area. Let me know if you’d like to connect.

I'm so sorry this happening to you. I want to encourage you to reach out to the Brain Tumor Center's patient support team. They are a total godsend and I wish all people with tumors and their caregivers had a similar resource. I took advantage of individual support as well as their support groups.
