Summit Center: In-Person Support for Girls and Female-Identified Teens
Smart & Savvy Skills & Support Group for Girls and Female-Identified Teens
Meet and connect with other teens who understand how hard it is to be a teen these days.
Licensed psychologist Dr. Loraine Van Tuyl is bringing together small in-person groups of girls and female-identified teens – ages 11-14 and 14-17 – at Summit Center's Walnut Creek office for genuine connection, validation, sharing, art and journaling, practical tips and guidance, self reflection, and calm centering.
Whether your teen feels left out, or unsure of themselves due to fluctuating mood swings or social pressures about how to act and who to be, this group offers a non-judgmental, safe space where true self, feelings, and individual needs are celebrated and supported. In fun and creative ways, teens will learn more about themselves and how to handle the challenges they’re struggling with, including:
- Feeling misunderstood, and alone, or overwhelmed in certain situations.
- Feeling different or that you don't belong (such as being more introverted or sensitive).
- Unable to stop spirals of self doubt and negativity that affect your self confidence.
Skill building goals will include becoming more resilient, confident, and authentic to one’s self and in all types of relationships.
Early bird price is $375 per group for the 5 sessions if you complete payment by June 21. Regular price $425. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
