Soul|Light Summer Camp: Nature-Based Summer Camp Opportunities for Teens (12+)!

Summer & Holiday Camps Now Enrolling
City:
Berkeley
Ages:
Preteens, Teens

It's not too late to enroll your pre-teen or teen in a healthy & fun outdoor summer camp!

SoulLight Ecotherapy is teaming up with local therapists in training to offer two unique and therapeutic summer camps for teens! If you know students who might benefit from this kind of experience — especially those who are creative, introspective, navigating transitions, or seeking a sense of community — we would be so grateful if you shared this with them and their families.

Wild Story, True Self is a one-week day camp for teens in the Bay Area. The camp invites adolescents into a soulful, nature-connected, and creative space where they can explore identity, storytelling, and belonging through myth, expressive arts, and earth-based practices.

Dates: June 16 – June 20, 2025 | Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm

Location: Camp will take place at beautiful outdoor parks and gardens in the East Bay (such as Tilden Park in Berkeley, CA)

Who it's for: Rising 9th through 12th graders

More info & registration: soullightcommunication.com/wildstory

Registration closes May 21! Sliding scale payment; scholarships available.

About the facilitators:

Sammy Kanofsky is a mentor, forager, forest bathing guide, and listener of trees. As a young adult, she stumbled into the magical experience of letting anxiety melt away while wandering the oak, bay and redwood trails of Huichin (Berkeley), only to find the anxiety replaced by a profound sense of awe, peace, and inspiration. She created Soul|Light Ecotherapy in 2017 to invite others into the healing magic of spending time immersed in nature, and is proud to serve as a mentor to Bay Area middle and high school girls and nonbinary youth.

Meli Sobin is an artist, arts educator, therapist in training, and wilderness guide currently pursuing an MA in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Meli works closely with middle and high school students in a school setting, supporting them through creative group experiences and one-on-one mentorship. She has guided wilderness-based rites-of-passage journeys for young people through organizations like Wilderness Torah and Northwestern University. Meli delights in helping young people connect with their true voice and she brings a playful, grounded, and soulful approach to her work.

Camp StarDust for LGBTQIA+ Teens!
Join SoulLight for a special week of nature connection & theater arts for LGBTQ+ teens (ages 12-17). Camp StarDust will be a week to come together with like-minded peers to play and get creative! Camp will focus on embodied play (think theater/improv games in nature), self-expression, and independent and collaborative creation. And circus skills workshops! The week will end with a group curated and directed performance/showcase of some kind.

In short: it will be a blast, and your kid/teen belongs in it!

Led by Rey Milner, AMFT

Dates & Schedule: Aug 11th-14th, M-F, 10am - 3pm in Tilden Park

About your Mentor:

Rey Milner (they/them) is a drama therapist, circus educator, and clown! They have worked in school based settings for the past nine years. They are passionate about the power of embodiment art, and play- particularly supporting queer and trans folks, to deepen community and create together. Rey is a huge fan of summer camp and experiential learning in nature, for children, teens, and adults. They are stoked to join the Soul Light team and blend creative arts/clowning with the natural wonder and theater space the trees, plants, and earth provide.
