Punk Philosophers’ Garage Cafe: Fall Season Arts Based "Classes" Begins 9/8 Enroll Now
Does your child need a space to nurture their creativity, their powerful imaginations, their self-image, and/or their relationship with learning? This alternative learning environment supports schooling and home/unschooling families with Reggio Emilia inspired classes for the big kids in the afternoon and evening. Arts-based classes and outside-the-box academics are both available for enrollment for Fall Season. Kids ages 5-15 are welcome. This is a neurodivergence affirming trauma informed space which holds human development research at the forefront of all we do.
What's unique about these classes:
-seasonal classes allow these kids to get to know each other and develop relationships (social and emotional developmental support is always on hand)
-child led individualized goals and activities empower learners and meet their needs with more fun, interest, and ownership
-2.5 and 4 hour classes mean parents get more time to make it to the laundromat, a workout class or a date night. And, the hours are flexible because it's your time to use. Accommodations through late drop offs and early pick ups works for me if it works for you.
-Pricing is ability and need based. You chose what you pay.
-This teacher has 2 degrees in human development, a teaching credential, 15 years of experience teaching, and 30 years of experience working with kids and families AND is a life-long learner.
-Love and Autonomy are the core values centered in an intentional experimental democracy where we practice community as our human nature remembers.
-"There's a land that I see where the children are free" is not imaginary, but this teacher's pursuit.... Because my study of human development and work in Reggio Emilia has shown me what's possible and it's more awesome than anyone I've met can even believe. I love to share it!
This is designed as a space for them to practice being their whole self-- feelings, needs, and all-- while being rooted for and supported.
