Drawing for Teens ● September 23 - December 2, 4-6pm (Tues) ● 10 Sessions ● Tuition: $680 (Reduced Tiers Available)
During this course, we will focus on methods of drawing from observation and exploring our creativity using a variety of art tools and materials. We will practice different kinds of observational drawing and painting, whether through still life, live figure drawing, or plein air drawing. By the end of the class, participants will gain a better understanding of the principles and concepts of art in drawing. All levels welcome, with one-on-one support tailored to each participant's needs. Instructor Ali Vaughan is a multidisciplinary artist working in both drawing and sculpture.
Building a Portfolio (Pre-College) ● October 1 - December 17, 4-6pm (Wed) ● 11 Sessions ● Tuition: $748 (Reduced Tiers Available)
What is an art portfolio? Whether you’re applying to an art program or submitting artwork for an exhibition, a strong portfolio showcases your creative vision and skills to others. This class will provide students with one-on-one guidance as they explore composition, variety and conceptual thinking through skill-building exercises and projects. By the end of the 11 weeks, students will walk away with new portfolio pieces and a better understanding of how to identify their strengths and artistic voice. Instructor Krista Wright has led pre-college programs at CCA and SFAI and is a practicing artist. This class is for artists ages 14-18. Students on all artistic journeys are welcome, regardless of whether they intend to apply for art programs with their portfolio.
