Art and Ecology By the Shore: Art and Ecology Class Starting In September!
Together we will witness the many shorebirds of the bay and special plants adapted to the tidal marsh, as well as the many insects and animals who inhabit the shore, making art inspired by our observations. Art activities may include making earth dumplings( seed balls), nature journaling or making sculptures on the shore.
Where: Shimada Friendship Park/Richmond Marina Bay Trail
When: Saturday Mornings, 9/6-9/20 from 10:00-11:30am
Who: Children 3-5 years old and their Family

Anne Marie has been teaching young children for more than 20 years in preschools, parks, cultural centers and art centers. She has taught outdoor Art and Ecology classes and camps to children and families at Heron’s Park, McLaren Park, Pine Lake and Glen Canyon with SF Rec and Park for the past few years. She loves and cares deeply for the wild and open spaces of the Bay Area and has been Involved in many different habitat restoration projects. She studied studio arts at Mills College, movement-based expressive arts at the Tamalpa Institute and herbal medicine at the California School of Herbal Studies. She loves to be outside with families sharing in the awe and wonder that the world around us inspires!
