9th Street Lab - Summer Workshop. This summer, 9th Street Lab is offering outdoor, one-week workshops for 7-12 year old youth. The workshops, six participants each, are from 9:00am-12:30pm, Monday-Friday. Workshops take place on 9th Street, Berkeley. Workshops are designed to teach essential building skills and to enable youth creativity, imagination, and curiosity. We build amazing things, we take things apart, we have fun!  Please visit us online the 9th Street Lab for registration.

We have three great workshops:

  • Imagine it? Build It! - Builders of all levels learn essential woodworking tools and techniques: measuring, hammering, sawing, drilling, joinery, and assembly. As their skills develop, builders create their own projects over the course of the week. June 10-14; 17-21 $450
  • Reverse Engineering - Taking apart everyday objects, from sewing machines and car engines to laptops and blenders, reveals a wide range of science, technology, engineering, math, and just cool stuff! Each engineer will use a variety of tools and take apart several objects—from kitchen appliances and computers to 700 pound car engines. July 15-19 $450
  • Big Build Bamboo - Explore the unlimited possibilities of creating with bamboo – from making a small, hand painted teacup to building a large-size climbing structure. Bamboo is a fantastic material to explore a wide range of topics and ideas around botany, aesthetics, art, engineering, geography, human factors, and much more. July 22-26 $450

We look forward to having you join us at 9th Street Lab.

Thank you,
