Birthday Party Time Capsule

I read some old postings on birthday party ideas with mentions of time capsules and thought this was really a neat idea. This will be for my soon-to-be 4-year-old daughter. I would like to ask 1) what kind of language to use in the annoucements for people who have no idea what this is? 2) what are some good examples to give to people? (what are some favoriate items you received/gave)? 3) how and where do you store them? Thanks a lot. XinRan

On the birthday invitations for my son's first birthday party I wrote Please bring an item for his time capsule to be opened on his 18th birthday (e.g. periodicals, photos, etc.) It was actually kind of hard for people to think of what to bring. My favorite item was A Collection of Memories by Grandma and Grandpa. My mom typed up a list of things such as things we always do when you visit, what we do to get you to smile, and you swept us off our feet when. Other items included the Life magazine The Year in Pictures and a roll of 2000 coin dollars. You might want to include the birthday cards she receives. Good luck! Helena
