I've heard about Jim Beade's (sp?) camp of this name for a couple of years. The info I've heard is that it's wonderful but always fills up quickly. I'm having trouble even getting the basic information about it. Can anyone tell me about a website, mailing list or even phone number? Thanks! anon

Best for physical dramatically inclined, creative, silly kids (not those who want serious athletics or science). Can be good for building physical confidence. Age 5-9, Dates 4 wk sessions 6/20-8/12, Time 9-3, Ratio 7:1, Cost $225, Deadline FCFS fills early (in February in 2003), Info 527-5115 www.hahathisaway.com (05)

It's ''Jim Beatty.'' Go to his website: http://www.hahathisaway.com/

The camp is full, but there is a waiting list. It fills up FAST! You can go to the website for further info: www.hahathisaway.com Good Luck! It is a great camp. My only gripe is that it is only 9-3:00, which is not great for people who need full-time summer care. Otherwise, wonderful! Happy Camper

My daughter attends a fabulous class called Ha Ha This A-Way given by a man named Jim Beatty. He bills it as A Creative Movement/Theatre Arts Class, but what really makes it so wonderful is Jim himself. He's really great. It's not a formal dance class, though. But it does have lots of boys (about half & half). It consists of a hodge-podge of activities like creative movement, tumbling, stretching, story dances, trapeze, yoga, and music & rhythm activities.

His studio is located at 2547 Eighth Street in Berkeley (cross street is Dwight Way). He holds 10-week classes that cost $80.00 for the series. I think he's open to drop-ins if you just want to try a class out. A new session is starting next week.

Here's a listing of classes: *Creative Movement/Theatre: 3-4 yrs - Tuesday 2:45-3:30 4-6 yrs - Friday 2:45-3:30 *Clowning and Creative Drama: 5-7 yrs - Tuesday 3:40-4:25 7-10 yrs - Tuesday 4:30-5:15

I can't say enough about this wonderful class!

Jim Beatty's Ha Ha This-A-Way is a wonderful, creative movement, dance, music, dress-up, clowning class. I think he starts with three year olds, and goes up to 8 or 9 year olds. The man is like a pied piper, the kids have a wonderful time, and most of the parents watching feel like they'd like to be in the class too. I don't have the phone number handy, but he must be in the phone book.
