Oma's Playground provides a caring educational environment, in which young human beings well thrive. We provide positive discipline helping children explore the consequences of their choices. Our program is Bilingual (English- Spanish) your child will learn Spanish while they are playing, exploring, signing and sharing with us!.
We were fortunate enough to get our daughter into Oma's playground when she was around 14 months. From the very first day, our daughter thrived and many days was not ready to come home because she was having so much fun at "Adelitas house"! Oma's Playground is small (small room), but has a great big yard with play structures and a wonderful option for babies and younger toddlers. A bonus is that Adelita and her staff mostly speak Spanish to the children, and our daughter quickly picked up the basics. Everyday at drop off and pick up, Adelita (and her primary care companion Alejandra) greeted the children and our daughter with the most genuine enthusiasm and warmth. Additionally, Adelita provides the children with wonderful activities and artwork - especially around each holiday and sends the children home with these elaborate craft projects - its just adorable. Oma's playground truly became an extension of our family, and Adelita and her staff are the most loving, nurturing, patient, warm, caring caregivers I could ask for. Oma's is a wonderful place if you are looking for a smaller environment / more intimate setting daycare setting. We were so sad to "graduate" from Omas Playground.
We couldn't be happier with our son's daycare. Adelita is so loving and caring that our baby gets happy when he realizes we are arriving at Oma's Playground. Per our request she only speaks Spanish to him and now at age 14 months he understands both Spanish and English. Our goal is to ensure he is bilingual and to prepare him for a bilingual center based preschool and kindergarten. Oma's Playground is convenient for families that live near Lake Merritt or Grand/Lakeshore areas. It's clean with lots of learning and activity toys. I especially like the backyard with the gazebo and swings/play structure. My baby loves being outside on sunny days. It's a wonderful place to nurture bilingual toddlers. CDC
