La Familia is a family cooperative preschool in Spanish in East Oakland, located between the Fremont and Maxwell neighborhood. Both of my children went to La Familia for three years each. The kids spend their days playing in the Bambi Forrest, serving up food in their mud kitchen, making art, doing puzzles, yoga, art and singing. Students learn through shared and new culture , heritage, history and traditions . Each day one family is present to offer support to the teachers and kids. As well as cook two meals for the students.  child will eat so healthy and well at this school.  This school is made of love, a place of safety, inspiration and more than anything, community. Through this strong, involved and loving group of Spanish speaking  parents, friends and maestras- we have created our community. The people we spend time with out side of the school, have all been connections made through La familia coop. There is no where more more magical then this place!

I can highly recommend two such pre-schools.  La Familia is owner run in her home, very loving, and homemade healthy food -- a great community!  We loved it.  She doesn't have a webiste, but knows child development and each child's need.  https://www.google.com/search?q=la+familia+preschool+oakland+ca&rlz=1C5…

The other one is a coop.  Las Semillitas.  https://lassemillitas.org/

I can recommend La Familia Cooperativa Spanish Immersion Preschool https://www.facebook.com/people/La-Familia-Co-op/100057330885514/

and Las Semillitas Cooperative Preschool https://lassemillitas.org.  My daughter attended both and we loved both.  I personally liked Las Semillitas more, but at the time were only part-time.  They may be full-time now.

If a parent in household speaks fluent Spanish, I HIGHLY recommend either La Familia (part-time only), or Las Semillitas.  Both in Oakland.  My daughter went to both, and it was great community, great social-emotional, and 100% in Spanish and in culture.

La Familia is exactly what its name indicates - a family. My daughter went to preschool at La Familia five years ago, and the people we met when she started there are still family to us. Maestra Mayra is gentle, wise and patient. She infuses the rich, co-created curriculum with indigenous eco-literacy, art and love. She has a gift for seeing the whole child and for knowing each child as an individual. I see now that the time I spent in co-op meetings and doing work-shifts were an investment in our long-term quality of life as a family. We were building lasting community and a sense of extended family for our daughter. She's in 3rd grade now and still says ''I miss La Familia'' on a regular basis. Thankfully, we still all get together often. In fact, I may see you (potential new family) at the next Día de Muertos or Día de la Madre celebration!
