Located on a tree lined street down the hill from the Mormon temple, our wonderful daycare provider has an opening. Her hours are M-F, 8:30-2. Our boy seemed to feel very comfortable with her right away, so transitioning him from fewer to more hours has been a breeze. Junko, a mom of a 3 year old herself, teaches the kids music, art, cooking, reading, games, and some Japanese words and songs. She takes infants through school age kids, charges $7.50 an hour. She provides lunch and a mid-morning snack. The food she cooks is healthy, very tasty, and involves a lot of organics. She can provide vegetarian options. She has a lovely, calm, warm demeanor, and the kids all seem to adore her and she them. We have felt incredibly lucky to have found her. The number of kids is always quite small - on a given day there are usually 4 to 6 kids, including her daughter. She takes the kids to the park and on walks on a regular basis, as well as spending time in her backyard. Contact Junko at 510/336-0135, juniechan[at]hotmail.com. You are also welcome to email me (Maggie)

Junko's Childcare now has an opening for a child of walking age. Our daughter has been with Junko since she was 8 months old until now (2.8 months) and we have developed a wonderful relationship with her and all the other families. Our daughter has started in preschool. Junko is a mother of a 2.9 year old daughter and has made our daughter feel a part of the family (our daughters are the best of friends). Junko's is a play-based daycare but teaches sign language, Japanese, songs and dances. Set in a beautiful home in a beautiful tree lined neighborhood, she serves organic home-made food and goes out on park and library excursions. Please email me if you have any questions. Kristen
