I just wanted to advocate for this great place. Barbara runs it similarly to a preschool with scheduled circle time, a walk, snack and lunch along with free play time. My son attended for about 9 months and loved it. Barbara and her husband Gene run it and they are loving, organized and very responsive. White Rabbit is a great place for a kid who is fairly independent and not super wild. They offer lunch which was a huge help and the hours worked great for us. It is truly a wonderful place. Kenda

If you don't need a full-time schedule, White Rabbit is the perfect place. Barbara provides snack and lunch, and good balance between free-play and structure. During circle time they learn days of the week, read books and sing. Everyone is expected to use good manners, treat each other with respect, but otherwise do what kids do.

Kids take a walk around the neighborhood EVERY day, sometimes visit the locksmith shop on the way, and often work on art projects. There is always a good mix of ages and genders which was important to me since my daughter is a single child. Barbara keeps everything CLEAN and tidy and I love her no nonsense attitude. Barbara was originally trained as a Montessori teacher (but this is NOT a Montessori based program), so that gives you and idea about her general approach to kids.

My daughter was at the White Rabbit for two years starting at 16 mos. She is a bit on the shy side and learned how to make great friends at White Rabbit. Our favorite part is the annual ZOO DAY - do NOT miss it! Barbara and Gene take everyone to the Oakland Zoo (including the parents), and it's a fun time for all.

You'll be lucky to have your child at Barbara's! She is accepting children now, and will help with potty training. Her hours are 9am-3pm M-Thr. Call her at 510-531-0673.

To parents who are looking for the perfect place to begin your child's experiences outside the home, I cannot more highly recommend White Rabbit Daycare in Glenview! Barbara Ferguson is truly gifted in her ability to help little ones start to socialize, follow directions, and become confident in themselves. With 30+ years of experience in parenting and running this sweet school from her home, she has mastered the routines and lessons that enable toddlers to thrive. Each day children play, participate in circle time, enjoy snacks and lunch (provided by WR), and take a walk around the neighborhood. White Rabbit offers a cozy, clean, and safe setting with lots of individual attention, freedom to play and explore, and opportunities to learn. My son's personality and language skills blossomed during his time at WR, and I will always be grateful to Barbara for lovingly guiding him (and me!) through this first experience with ''school.'' Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9am-3pm, with partial days available.

Re: Preschool for twins 2 mornings a week?
I had the same question when my twins were that age. I found a great home based daycare program that was a little as 2 days a week and as much as four. It's White Rabbit in Glenview. Barbara Ferguson is director/teacher and since it's small, the kids get individual attention. It was my girls first experience being away from me or with any structure and it was a great way to prepare for preschool. My only wish was that I started it earlier. No need to be potty trained, but she will help with that if need be. Not sure if they have room, but worth a call to check it out. 531-0673 Rachel

White Rabbit Day Care has openings (!), which is a gift for any family who is looking for daycare for children 3 and under. Barbara Ferguson has been running White Rabbit for 25+ years. Her days are filled with warmth, fun, structure, and sweet guidance. Children play, have story time, go for daily walks, and more. She provides snack and lunch. The environment is clean and safe and warm and fun! And NO TV. I interviewed 15+ daycares before finding White Rabbit. They are wonderful! Call Barbara directly for more information. Her hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. M, T, W, and Th. Her number is (510) 531-0673.
